The best places to grind for experience points in ESO are public dungeons. While you can still earn a lot of experience points by grinding on mobs outside of dungeons, these locations don't offer the same high XP rewards as public dungeons do. High iron ore can only be obtained by players of a certain level (1525) or with a certain blacksmithing skill (one point into the first passive). Most players have maxed out blacksmithing so they get rubedite, or they haven't worked on it at all so they get iron. To know if your price is fair, look at other ores (except rubedite).

From what I understand Rubedite was mostly found in High Rock before the One Tamriel patch for ESO. The Royal Guard armor seen in the Tribunal expansion for Morrowind is likely made from Rubedite, which makes sense considering King Helseth was originally from High Rock and lived there for most of his life.

High iron ore (that makes steel ingots) is found in Stormhaven and lower level part of Rivenspire. Orichalcum is found in Stormhaven (rare), Rivenspire and the lower levels of Alik'r Desert. Yes I just reached 160 cp. I don't have materials because I was a vet level 7 pve player and I was not in the area where voidstone or rubedite were. I have refined thousands upon thousands of various ore, but the larger batches have mainly been either rubedite or iron. I have done it in a batch of about 15,000 all at once as well as just 4,000 or 2,000 or even just 400 and my long term rate is about 5 tempers for every 1000 refined which is the .5% that Mallagar states.

Another thing you could do is save up every single rubedo leather armor piece you have to deconstruct it, although each one equals a single leather so you'll need to save up quite a lot.

I think it is definitely meant to be a slow grind, i can spend and hour farming cloth exclusively and come away with a stack of void cloth and only 2030 unrefined silk. I keep raw items like Rubedite Ore on my characters until I refine them. Clothier (22 slots) : I keep two stacks each of Hemming, Embroidery, Rubedo Leather, and Ancestor Silk. I keep one stack each of Elegant Lining, Dreugh Wax, and secondary crafting materials (level 150, plus the 140cp materials Void Cloth and Shadowhide).
