Never ever ball mill potassium perchlorate and aluminum together in a ball mill. There are only a few mixes of components that can be mill together. Always use saftey first when using a ball mill. IMO, magnetite wouldnt burn, since already strongly oxydized, rather it can be an oxydizer (some thermites are made with Fe304 instead of Fe203) but, as mentionned, it is ferrous, can surely transfer static electricity, that's why it's good to avoid this material at all costs in the charcoal, if ball milled as BP afterwards in a ball mill.

I have never had a, " little mill" but once you get a mill dialed in with the correct media and charge with (dry) chems it doesn't take long to mill powder to it's peak power. some have tested powder every 1/2 hour and found that a correct mill will get it done in 2 hours.
